More Mobile Tech Equals Longer Work Hours

Uncategorized | Nov 5, 2014

While the increase in mobile technology has allowed young adults the ability to communicate with family and friends, as well as engage in causes they support, it has also increased the amount of work they do after hours.
Thirty-seven percent of employed American adults between the ages of 18 and 29 said that mobile technology greatly increases the amount of work they do outside of work hours.
In the same age group, 76 percent of respondents said mobile increases their amount of communication, while 21 percent said it increased their involvement in election campaigns and other political activities.
Thirty-seven percent of adults 30-49 also said mobile tech increased their work time, but the youngest adults were the most likely to say technology increased their activities in the other areas.
