The 15 Most Popular Bible Verses on Love

People are looking for love in lots of different places, including the Bible.

“Love” remained the most searched for term in English at Bible Gateway in 2019, as it has been in previous years. “Amor” also topped the Spanish language list.

Many of the most popular verses of the year also reference love, including 15 of the top 100 most popular Bible Gateway verses.

Here are each of the verses with their overall popularity ranking in 2019.

1. John 3:16 (1)

For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

2. Romans 8:28 (5)

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

3. Psalm 23:6 (7)

Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live.

4. 2 Timothy 1:7 (19)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

5. Galatians 5:22 (25)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness …

6. 1 Corinthians 13:4 (37)
